The Pakuranga Hunt, formed in 1872, had the honor of being the first in New Zealand and the outdoor activity surrounding the hunt became a way of life for those who loved and sought it. To experience the thrill of following a pack of hounds across the fields with their hawthorn hedges, stone walls and tranquil streams, was something that few horsemen could resist.
This book has been written by two hunting men of many years' standing, with a knowledgeable love of their subject. Being amply provided with many photographs and of considerable interest it will be a valuable edition to New Zealand's hunting history.
