The Queenstown visitor finds it hard to believe that the towering crags of The Remarkables can actually be used for the pasturing of sheep. Byt the nimble merinos have been summer-grazing up there since 1860, shepherded by generations of men dedicated to an incredibly tough and often highly hazardous profession.
