Indian Excursion
The wife of one of Canada's foremost geologists, Isabel Wilson saw India through curiously science-tinted spectacles. When she and her husband were invited to make a tour of the country's geophysical centres they found their trip stretched by Indian generosity to encompass realms of great monuments and treasures undreamed of in the textbooks of geology. But the people whom she met were mainly scientists, and it was in their familiar terms that she was able to comprehend something of India's problems and the methods which are being used to overcome them today.
The Wilsons travelled through Cuttack in Orissa, Delhi, Akbar's United Provinces, Hyderabad, Madras, Bangalore, Mysore, to Cochin on the Malabar coast. Finally they travelled to Bombay and the beautiful Mogul city of Ahmedabad.
