Cartoons From Punch by John Tenniel

Book Description: Bradbury & Evans, London. Cloth. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. First American Edition. Folio - over 12 - 15 tall. 100 cartoons from the period 1853-1862. No publication date but presumed 1860's. Green cloth has embossing and gilt titles on front. Cloth is battered on corners, spine ends and edges with heavy boards exposed in places and cloth is faded in part on front. Gilt page edges. Book has had spine replaced with old cloth relaid over well-matched green cloth and e/p's have been replaced with appropriate card. Contents tight although front hinge is cracked at title page. Internally, there is age discolouration and some foxing. Some of pages are a bit battered at edges but all cartoons are intact. Some of the pages have been repaired. The pre-title page is partially disloged but still intact. This is an ex library copy but only evidence is a discrete no on pre title page and a faint no in white on spine.
