Ronald Searle gives to the magnificent comedy of human nature his most scrupulous attention, and rarely has it received so rousing an interpretation. Provincetown painters being gulled by their critics, Victorian gentlemen being given the air in British Columbia, Eskimos staggering under a whale of a catch, and star-spangled aristocrats hotly pursuing the Hamiltionian ideal may be too busy or bemused to see the humor of the situation, but the rest of us (who know how funny everyone else is) cannot fail to see his point of view.
