Three Men and a Dog on a Rock
Note to previous owner on title page. Otherwise good condition.
This is the story of three young men spending their holidays in New Caledonia and deciding to start with some local sporting experiences. So they try for sailing, horse trekking, golf, Bowling, Pétanque, tennis, Cycling, bowling, Judo, Fencing, wind surfing, Rodeo etc...etc . Always, of course with more or less success, and funny experiences. In the same time they discover some of the island?s life and history. The dog itself is a very special character on his own. It is a combination of French and English humour with considerations on the French way of life and on our actual society behaviours. It can be seen as a transposition (or suite) of the famous English classic ??Three men in a boat?? by J.K Jerome, in a different time and different place, but the spirit is the same. Most of the adventures and the three main characters have happened really and are still living. The author, Didier Lucien Poppe, is more well known as an International Track and field coach, working with high performances athletes since many years at Olympics and World championships level.
