A Creative Guide to Painting on Silk
In recent years more and more people have come to discover the hobby of painting on silk. The first part of this book introduces the materials, tools and methods of this art. Detailed information is provided on silk paint colours and means of separation, on fixing techniques, and on the framing and stretching of silk. The various silk painting features are described, for example techniques in water colour, thinning, separation, wet-in-wet, layers and salt. Each project is accompanied by colour guides and sketches for transfering the patterns onto the silk. This book provides the basic information and guidelines for the creation of, amongst other things, beautiful cloths, pictures, cushions and scarves, but will also leave the reader inspired to create her or his own designs.
