As research progressed, it became very clear that it would be almost impossible for a third person to adequately convey the philosophy, cheerful optimism, and depth of family feeling that is expressed in their personal letters. The bubbling vitality, the difficulties and the sorrows of this pioneer family, give a wonderful insight into beginning life in a new country.
