Marcus Ward & Co, London, 1885. Decorative Cloth. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Leopold Flameng (illustrator). 4to - over 9¾ - 12 tall. Beautiful green bevelled boards with embossed illustration in gilt and black on front, a bright gilt emblem on rear and titles in black on front. Titles on spine have faded. Gilt wearing from front also. Corners and spine ends are bumped with cracks in cloth at spine ends. Gilt page edges are bright. Binding is tight and hinges are firm but frontispiece (with original tissue) is loose. 226pp with 51 drawings on wood and 6 etchings by Leopold Flameng. Some age discolouration and foxing which is largely confined to the prelims and the tissues covering the illustrations. No inscriptions but a school prize label (High School of Otago, dated 1889) pasted on front paste down. A lovely book, in very good condition for its age. This is a heavy book so check postage with bookseller.
