This is the life story of a great political caricaturist. New Zeland and Australia have been the breeding ground of many famous caricaturists and Low describes fhis early years there with insight and humour. In 1919 he came to England to pursue his career. He has now written tthe story of the last half-century, seen through the eyes of a professional commentator with an almost fanatical regard for his own independence and integrity, and an obstinate determination to express his mind freely in terms of caricature. His working life from early days involved him in a constant run of violent disputes not only with his enemies but with his friends, in which hot words were exchanged and insults and taunts mingled with compliments and praise. The most famous of these conflicts were those with Mussolini and Hitler.
