Star Boating Club

This is a story of Wellington, told through the progress of the Star Boating Club - a landmark on Wellington's shoreline since our colonial days.

Beginning in a humble shed on the beach of Lambton Quay, the club had several shifts before its splendid permanent siting on Taranaki Wharf.

Built in 1886, the Star clubhouse - 'The Boatshed' - has been an elegant backdrop to New Zealand history.
