In this book edited by historian Michael King a number of thoughtful Pakeha New Zealanders consider the question of who or what is Pakeha? Drawing on their personal experience they conclude that there is indeed a strong, authentic Pakeha identity and culture which can stand proudly alongside New Zealand's other indigenous culture, Maori. They examine the specific influences that made them Pakeha. They write about things which are unique to New Zealand, and about an increasing pride in nationality and the sharing of bicultural heritage.
