Flowers Into Landscape: Margaret Stoddart 1865-1934

For fifty years, Margaret Stoddart was arguably New Zealand's best-known flower painter. Beginning in the 1880s with precisely observed studies of native plants, she moved on to delicately painted still lifes. By the early 1900s, she was well on the way to making this genre her own.
