Description

Macmillan Reference Books, 1983.
This Dictionary is concerned with the UK since 1950, a period during which the division between young people and their parents became more marked than in previous generations. The new Permissive Society produced it's own language, made up partly of new expressions and partly of old words used in a different way.
The principle has been to select and document particularly significant words and meanings, those which have tended to bind teenagers together as a separate breed and to baffle older people. A high proportion of the entries are not to be found in other modern dictionaries.
