Picture Post began in 1938, its circulation rising to over a million copies per week. Tom Hopkinson, the editor in its great years, writes a new Foreword & selects the photos for this book. There are also articles forming a documentary of this era with many salutary pictures of destruction, stoicism and human suffering in WW2.
