The Rev. CW Haskell, now General Secretary of the NZ Anglican Board of Missions, lived in Karachi, the capital of Sind, for twenty-three years. Twenty-one of those years he spent as a Headmaster, first of the CMS High School, the oldest school in Sind, and later of the Karachi Grammar School, the premier school in Pakistan. For fourteen years he was also Vicar of the largest Indian Church in the huge Diocese of Lahore.
