Football attracts the interest of most Australians, and yet it was a football series in June and July of 1971 that split the country. Young against old, black against white, students and trade unionists against the government; Australians from all walks of life battled, sometimes violently, to decide the outcome of a major international sports event - the Springbok rugby tour of Australia.
