The Jones Men: 100 New Zealand Men Talk About Their Lives
This book is based on the life stories of 100 New Zealand men. It draws on their experiences to explore the attitudes and institutions which shape the lives of men in New Zealand. If you were in the First Fifteen and needed help with anything - that was it, you got it. If you were rugby you were everything. It's rather like going out and buying a car. You've got an idea of what you want, and when it all comes together and it looks right, you do it. I would say that getting married was no more than that. I'm quite happy to care for the children at weekends, even change nappies, but that isn't my chief role. New Zealand women? I've never really concentrated on that sort of thing. When you reach 40, you realise that you've pretty much got as far as you're going to go in terms of major moves.
