Da'Vella is an established New Zealand artist and teacher. Impulsive by nature, she set out one day, while painting on the West Coast, buy a pound of butter, and returned instead with a Historic Catholic Church. She transported the materials to her home at Lake Hayes, and with imagination and artistic flair, designed and built a grand old English style home. Injured in a near fatal car crash, her life is drastically changed. Her recipe for rehabilitation was to buy another church, start building again, and against all odds, pick up the threads of her busy, creative life...
