Breaking the Cycle - Survivors of Child Abuse and Neglect

When Pamela Fong began photographing survivors of child abuse and neglect, it became apparent to her that these were families we've all seen in our neighbourhoods, ordinary people we meet at the shops or walking the dog. And as she heard their stories and those of other people she'd meet each day, she realised how pervasive child abuse is. And in some way, we all carry with us our own dark areas of pain and feelings of abuse and shame, some more extreme than others. So these photographs in a sense become pictures of all of us...
