This book has been written for those with an interest in childhood asthma and who wish to have a wider understanding of the subject. It is neither intended as an introductory text, nor as a management guide and certainly presumes that the reader is familiar with one of the many useful basic books available on asthma. It has been written in response to the many searching questions posed by the parents of asthmatic children seen in hospital practice and the many involved parents and patients who attend meetings of the Asthma Society.
