Description
Moa Beckett Publishers, Auckland, 1994. Good used condition. Previous owner inscription inside.
The Wairarapa and Manawatu was one of the earliest regions in New Zealand settled and farmed by Europeans. Many early settlers established huge sheep runs, and when the railway opened up the area, the region supplied centres with produce, timber and flax. Towns like Foxton, Featherston, Masterton and Levin flourished. Over years of change farming has remained the backbone of the region.
Through special glimpses of places and faces caught in time, 'The Way We Were' charts the rich panorama of the area's heritage.
