Graham Cowie came from a long line of General Practitioners: both his parents were doctors. In this autobiography, he retraces his early years, his life as a house surgeon, post-graduate and overseas travels, his war years and his long period of service as a GP in the Wairarapa. To this he adds forthright views on the role of a GP - and he also allows his life-long attraction for cars and motor sports to pierce through in a very full and human narrative.
