Nothing in the way she spoke or in her manner had prepared him for the power of her voice when she lauched into the song.
Although he had written it, Ian felt as if he was hearing it for the first time. Not the same song at all. She sang, oblivious to everyone, eyes focused on something just in front of her. They were no longer Ian's words.
They were her words and she was singing them from the heart to someone who was standing right there in the room.
