New Zealand has a wealth of wilderness areas. Moreover, this wilderness is unique. Eighty million years of ecological isolation from the world's landmasses has given New Zealand a flora and fauna which is largely endemic. In Untouched horizons, author and photographer Nic Bishop celebrates some of that island's more remote wild places, his pictorial essay being the result of years spent travelling on foot through untouched regions.
