Dedicated to '...the people of New Zealand, the most advanced community among men...', MR OSEBA'S LAST DISCOVERY descibes the travels of Amoora Oseba - a traveller from the land of Cavitorus, situated inside the hollow Earth - on the foreign lands of the surface, and his observations of the 'Outeroos', as the inhabitants of the said lands are known.

Oseba's 'discoveries' include Europe and Britain, Asia, the Americas and Australia, before finally coming to New Zealand (known by his people as 'Zelania'), which he describes in grandiose detail as a geographic, social and political utopia.

I clothed my subject in a garb of fiction, that I might wrest from the reader the memories of the daily struggle with stubborn facts - I adopted a style, that I believed would be appreciated for its audacious novelty, and, though the eloquent flights of my chief character may seem picturesque, he but expresses the impressions, the feelings, and, further, the opinions of -
