South Seas Paradise was originally published by Doubleday in the US as Today is Forever and renamed South Seas Paradise when republished in the UK by Robert Hale.
British born R Julian Dashwood wrote under the pen name Julian Hillas. This book covers his life from arriving in Rarotonga, working at a variety of jobs and becoming the only European member of Cook Islands Parliament when they entered into self governing arrangement with NZ. He died in 1970 and is buried on island of Mauke where he and his wife lived for many years. She was a local.
