The Tasman Series in the late 1960s ... Each January a selection of the best Formula 1 drivers and their cars would arrive in New Zealand for The Tasman Series, four race meetings at Pukekohe, Levin, Wigram and Teretonga, followed by four race meetings in Australia. In 1967, as a 14 year old, I decided that the way to get closer to my F1 heroes (and in particular double world champion Jim Clark), was to borrow my father's Asahi Pentax Spotmatic camera, buy a 135mm telephoto lens, and become a motorsport photographer for the Southland Sports Car Club at Teretonga.--Introduction.
