Description
Museum of New Zeland Te Papa Tongarewa, 1995. Some fading to spine.
This collection of colour and black and white photographs was shot while Brake was working for the Magnum group in the 1950s. The photographs range from Beijing to Tibet and include unique candid portraits of Mao and other leaders of the 1950s, as well as street, factory, and rural scenes. Brake is perhaps New Zealand's best known photographer.
